Salgaocar FC is the only Goan club to have a full-fledged Community Outreach Program. The Program is organised in the club’s home town of Vasco since 2013 having completed 9th successful editions. The program is spread over 22 Sundays every year from October to March.

Every year the program attracts over 600 registrations of boys and girls in the age group of 6 to 11 years and has been very well received by children and parents alike. The fact that kids travel from as far as Ponda and Margao to Vasco every week is testimony to the success of the Program. The children are trained by the club’s highly qualified and experienced coaches and first team players. The basics of the ‘beautiful game’ are imparted to these budding footballers using techniques that are both fun and engrossing. The most talented boys from the Community Program are inducted into the club’s renowned youth development system.

The Programme is headed by our AFC ‘A’ licensed coach Umer Mutawalli and a team of forty coaches who also hold AIFF/AFC coaching licences. A new plan/set of activities is planned and followed on all the 10 grounds simultaneously for the children every Sunday.

The Club organises health and nutrition informative sessions by doctors from SMRC for parents of children attending the community outreach program.

The Community Program is an integral part of the club’s activities. Salgaocar FC also organises Grassroots festival on 15th May to commemorate ‘AFC Grassroots Day’. Children from the club’s Community Outreach Program, budding footballers from the club’s U-10 and U-12 teams and kids from the club’s three partner schools, participate in these festivals. The festivals are organised as they offer children the perfect opportunity to showcase their skills with the small-sided games in particular bringing their competitive spirit to the fore.
